Smiles4Canada
New logo for a smile-worthy cause
Smiles4Canada is a program run by the Canadian Foundation for the Advancement of Orthodontics (CFAO) in conjunction with the Canadian Association of Orthodontists (CAO). The program helps provide orthodontic treatment to young Canadians from low-income families.
Olive and Soy recently updated the CAO brand and launched their new website. The rebrand required an update to all sub-brands associated with the CAO. Our team initially worked on redesigning the logo of the CFAO foundation to better showcase its relationship with the association. The next challenge was to update the Smiles4Canada brand in away that successfully reflects its connection to the CFAO and CAO, while representing the program’s objectives and the audience it serves.
The Solution
Our team created a logo inspired by the positive impact of orthodontic treatment on a child’s smile, promoting both health and confidence. The logo features a maple leaf stem forming a smile, connecting it to the CFAO logo. The use of orange colour appeals to the program’s young demographic while maintaining a connection to the CAO and CFAO logos.
To better connect with parents and young patients, we developed a more friendly and vibrant colour palette and a fun iconography system. This approach presents Smiles4Canada in a more approachable and casual manner than the CAO’s more serious and professional tone.
